  • Advanced Access , a real estate web site making giant, got spanked by Yahoo and other search engines this past quarter. If you listen to the forumns and blogs that are out there you would be led to believe that you shouldn't link to real estate websites if you are a real estate agent. This is ABSOLUTELY not true and if you believe them You will have fallen for what they hoped you would and your site will be stuck with theirs.

The real reason why advanced access got spanked is that their pages are not real. advanced access is a mass producer for years and didn't do anyting when it came to support or search engine optimization like the little guys could. They didn't care because the internet market didn't demand them to make things right. The biggest thing is that you the agent can't tell what is a real website and what is a fake web site. Click on this Menifee Real Estate web site. It looks real doesn't it Click all over it. looks like a website. Now go here http//www.margehewett.com/cortecapri/index.html

You see that the site is actually located someplace else. Its a technique that large producers but especially advanced access used. Why because if they had links pages and certain content pages in a central location and hidden then if changes needed to be made it takes less time. That is the key to their success if you want to call it that. Mass production and central management that benifits their company over the effectiveness of your site if it was done honestly.

Its no different than any big business behavior, give to the public what you can advertise is a solution and no one will know better till they do then advertise again your new and improved solution.

They got away with it because you the agent couldn't tell. To all the advanced access site owners; did they say you have over 300 pages of content but its not really on your site and we made tricks to make it seem like its on your site No.

The big business attitude had them thinknig they can do what they want. They spend more money PUSHING their sites than they do in research and development. They know like William Morris that if you advertise enough the propoganda enough people will bite.

NOW that their income is shrinking they are finally (only after the fact that Yahoo spanked all the sites they do) rushing to come up with REAL websites. Yet even what they are proposing STILL is not a full service site. They still have you signing up for search engine optimization, recommending other parnters to help you and DON'T have anyone to send you to actually RUN your business.

You can't just single out advanced access with this because many real estate brokerages do the same thing to their agents by giving them a website and making it seem like they're are going to get deals from it when its a broker real estate agent web site scam.
