Albeit waning somewhat in recent years, Web directories remain an important supplement to algorithmic search engines as a means for Internet users to navigate the Web and/or search for specific content. Unlike a search engine, a Web directory displays its Web site listings divided into categories and subcategories and generally relies on human editors when evaluating submitted content. Web surfers can locate content by browsing the directory categories. When suggesting a Web page to a directory you should carefully consider which directory category best suits your page's content and suggest the page to that category. Ultimately, the directory's editors will decide whether or not to include the page, and in which category it belongs.
